Serious crash between Clyde and Cromwell, Lindis Pass alternate route into Central Otago this morning

Source: New Zealand Transport Agency

With Easter traffic building this week, a serious crash between Clyde and Cromwell early this morning means that drivers may need to take the Lindis Pass to get to Wānaka and Queenstown this morning.

The Police Serious Crash Unit is attending the multi-vehicle truck crash on SH8.

The Lindis Pass route is via Omarama and Tarras. The alternative is for people to delay their journeys until later today.

At this stage SH8 looks likely to be closed all morning between Clyde and Cromwell.
