Paremata Road, Whitby is closed between James Cook Drive and Spinnaker Drive while emergency services respond to a serious crash.
The crash involving a single motorcycle was reported at 6.30pm. One person was seriously injured and transported to hospital.
Diversions are in place, motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
