Police can now release the name of the man who died in the crash on Totara Street, Mount Maunganui, yesterday around 9:30am.
He was 74-year-old Kevin William Akroyd of Mount Maunganui.
Police extends their sympathies to Mr Akroyd’s friends and family at this difficult time.
The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating the crash.
