Headline: Road users asked to complete survey on Kaimai Range variable speed limit signs

The signs encourage people to drive at safe speeds that are appropriate to the road conditions when rain, ice and fog hit the Kaimai Range. They are part of a trial and were put in place in November 2015 to reduce the number of people being killed or seriously injured.

The investigation was initiated following the indefinite suspension of Mr Joyce’s heavy vehicle specialist certifier (HVSC) appointment on 13 June 2018, as a result of issues identified during Transport Agency audits.
